Pickup is usually ready in 10–20 minutes. Delivery takes around 30 minutes or more.

Yes. At checkout, choose "Order ahead" and pick a day and time, up to 7 days ahead. Pickup times are 11:30 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm. You can order ahead even when we're closed. The deal of the day is the exception: it's for its own day only, so it can be ordered for later the same day, but not for another day.

Any time, for a time when we're open. Online ordering is open 7 days: 11:20 am to 2 pm for lunch, and 4 pm to 9 pm for dinner. For "as soon as possible", order during those times.

Online orders are paid securely on the website at checkout. In the restaurant we take EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and cash. We don't take Afterpay. Phone orders can be paid over the phone or with cash on delivery.

We deliver up to 15 km from the restaurant, including Kaiapoi, The Pines Beach, Kairaki, Rangiora, Woodend, Pegasus, Ohoka, Clarkville and Silverstream. The checkout checks your address.

• $1 per km from 10 to 15 km (for example, 12 km is $12)

The checkout works out the exact fee from your address.

Every dish is cooked mild unless you ask. Mild is very gentle and kid-friendly. Curries, the tagine and the lamb shank let you choose Mild, Medium, Hot or Extreme. For any other dish, add a note at checkout.

Yes, there are plenty, and they're marked on the menu. Our vegan dishes use coconut cream instead of dairy cream. Our curries and tagine have no flour.

Please call us on 03 327 2555 before you order, so our team can help you choose. Our kitchen handles gluten, dairy, egg, seafood, sesame and tree nuts (cashew, almond, hazelnut). Our fryers are shared, and we have no separate gluten-free preparation area. There are no peanuts in any menu item, but traces are possible. We can't guarantee any dish is free from an allergen.

All our meat (chicken, lamb and beef) is halal, and we don't use alcohol in cooking.

• A small curry is a 650 ml container, half rice and half curry.
• A large curry is 500 ml of rice plus 500 ml of curry.
• Feast platters feed 2 adults.

We seat groups of up to 20. For bigger groups or catering, please call us.

Yes. We're licensed, and BYO is welcome. Corkage is $7 per bottle.

Yes. There's free parking nearby, wheelchair access and high chairs. We don't have outdoor seating.

Yes, with no surcharge.

Buy one online, any time of day, in any amount from $10. They're emailed once paid and are valid for 3 months. Use them once, in the restaurant. They can't be exchanged for cash.

• Keep the "join the Zaafran Loyalty Card" box ticked at checkout, or create an account.
• You get one stamp per completed online order of $15 or more (one a day).
• Your 6th stamp earns a free onion bhaji, falafel or samosa. Your 10th earns a free regular-size curry, souvlaki or signature salad.
• Rewards are emailed as a code to use at checkout.
• Share your link with a friend: when their first order is completed, you both get an extra stamp.
• In the restaurant we use our paper loyalty card, which is separate.
